The University of Greenwich was established in 1890 at Woolwich Polytechnic and received its first CGLI certificate in 1892. In 1992, the institution gained the status of a university and was renamed as the University of Greenwich. Over the years, the university has made its place among the top academic institutions in the world. It has gained the accreditations of many prestigious organizations like CIPD, APS, and AMBA. Notably, the University of Greenwich has three campuses. Two of these campuses, Avery Hill Campus and Greenwich Campus, are located in London while the third campus, Medway Campus, is located in Kent, England. The Greenwich campus is the university's home campus and has the Stock well Street Building that houses TV and film studios, a library, and high-tech editing suites. Also, the social and teaching spaces of the campus are located in the £25-million Dreadnought Building. The Avery Hill campus has excellent sports and teaching facilities with four clinical skills labs, two weather-proof sports pitches, a sports hall, a huge lecture theatre, and a gym. The Medway campus has many study facilities like an 8,000-m2 lab, the Drill Hall Library, residential facilities, and a student hub.
